About Scott and the Edgecombe Acting Studio
Tired of all the schools and acting gurus messing with young actors’ heads, Scott felt it was time to take his non-mentally invasive approach to the craft and start his own school. Here we design classes and workshops around the belief that with hard work and practice, any artist can succeed. With over 30 years of experience in the industry in both Canada and the US as well as almost two decades of training, Scott offers a unique perspective on both acting and the business surrounding it. With the Edgecombe Acting Studio, he hopes to share his wisdom through classes and workshops inspired by his experiences.
Over his time in the entertainment industry, Scott spent 2 years in NYC and 15 years in LA where he worked in film, television, and on stage. He returned to Toronto in 2009 and has since appeared in over 40 television and film projects all while working as a reader for several Canadian Casting Directors including RDC Casting, Diane Kerbel Casting, Forrest and Forrest Casting Inc., Deirdre Bowen Casting Inc., Tina Gerussi Casting, and Clark & Page Casting Studio (BC). Over the past ten years, he has logged over 10,000 hours “in the room” working on some of the biggest productions shooting in Toronto, and has read with almost every union actor in this city. Although not every actor knows him by name, if you’re auditioning in Toronto, you know “that big ginger reader guy” the second you walk in the room.
